Mmm...sugar

So this morning I had the gestational diabetes test. Basically I had to drink this really sweet flat orange drink (tasted like a melted popsicle) within five minutes and then they drew my blood exactly an hour later. I felt fine the whole time and I will say that I had heard so many stories about how bad it was (passing out, vomiting, etc) that I wasn't sure what to expect! I do love my sugar though, so maybe that is why I felt fine? What's most interesting is that I figured that both myself and the baby would be wired after consuming 50 grams of sugar in 5 minutes on an empty stomach but it actually had the opposite effect! I felt very sleepy and I did not notice any increase in her movement at all this morning.

Also, thanks to the wonderful Graudins/Hougardy/Roberts clan we have our whole nursery set now! It is so cute in our second bedroom which is still serving as a guest room and computer room as well. For now, the crib is still in the box in our garage as we are hoping to move by late summer/early fall and we will try and see if we can't get away with just the bassinet until then. I've posted some pics of the baby part of the room.
