Tooth #3
Hazel has been fussy this last week and lo and behold we think we may have figured out why... Marshall & I spotted her THIRD tooth breaking the surface this week. It is her top front left tooth and I have a feeling the right one won't be too far behind. I can not believe how quickly she is growing up! She started clicking her bottom tooth together with the top one two days ago which if anyone knows Marshall and I that is like nails on a chalkboard, so hopefully that will lose its novelty soon!

The Half Year Mark Already??
It is amazing that Hazel is half a year old! When I was pregnant it was hard to imagine what life would be like with a baby and now it is impossible to imagine what life would be like without her! She is growing up so fast now. She can sit up completely on her own and play with her toys and also loves to jump away in her jumperoo. She can roll all the way across the room and gets up on her hands and knees as if she wants to crawl but she just can't get moving quite yet. We had her six month checkup and our doctor said we could start her on solid foods as she seems willing and interested. I am so incredibly happy about the fact that we made it to our goal of SIX months of exclusive breastfeeding!! We went through some ups and downs with it but in the end we toughed it out and made it through. Monday night we tried some rice cereal mixed with breastmilk and we have since given her sweet potatoes and bananas. She is willing to start eating it but then loses interest pretty quickly and wants to know why mommy isn't just feeding her. I am still breastfeeding her about 4-5 times a day and the plan is to now set a goal of breastfeeding combined with solids until 12 months so I am excited and hopeful about that as well. I really hope that she starts to enjoy her solids a bit more but I am not too worried as she is still a big gal. At her six month checkup she weighed in at 19lbs 14 oz (95th percentile) and was 27 inches tall (97th percentile).
Starting out pretty good...
I don't know about this...
We had a lot of fun this Halloween weekend as Uncle Marco and Aunt Mari were here to celebrate as well! We took Hazel down to the Tower District to Trick-Or-Treat from shop to shop with the other kids and it was a lot of fun. Hazel held her little treat bag the whole time and everyone thought it was so cute!

I think I have my work situation figured out now as well. After some negotiating, I now have an agreement to return to work in February at 16 hours per week (8 hours each on Monday and Tuesday). This works out great because Marshall has Mondays off so we are just left to figure out what to do for one day a week. I am pretty excited about keeping my foot in the door and the agreement is that I can continue to work 16 hours per week as long as I have a child who is under 6 in my household which is awesome. Marshall's new job is still going great so we are excited and grateful for that as well!
