Busy times

Time is flying at this point! Things are going along great with the house and it looks like we will be set to close next Wednesday (8/4). This is both exciting and anxiety provoking as not one box has been packed yet. Luckily we are free this next weekend so hopefully a lot will get done.

We also just got back from the Rusis family reunion in Pismo Beach, CA. It really was a lot of fun but I was just SOOO happy to be arriving home from it yesterday knowing that I didn't go into labor three hours from home :) I will definitely say there are no more long car trips in store for me until this little guy makes his appearance.

Hazel is doing great and it is hard to believe she has her 15 month checkup this week. She gets funnier every single day and now seems to enjoy pacing around with other peoples' cell phones and throwing her head back with laughter as if she is having the best conversation in the world. She has also been using several words more consistently and really seems to know what they mean. She is definitely no longer a baby and it has been a joy for us to watch her personality come out.

Excitement is in the air!

Well, we have had quite an exciting last week or so. To start, we found a house that we really really liked and put in an offer on it! After much waiting with offers/counter offers/appraisals, etc it seems as if it is all working out and our expected close date is 8/6/10, which is just two short weeks before our due date!! This process has been a lot more intense than I would have imagined but it is also very exciting and I am so thrilled at the prospect of this being our first home and bringing our baby boy home to it. For now it is just more waiting on the final loan approval and the home inspection.

As for baby boy he is doing great! I had another ultrasound yesterday and he was measuring a whopping 6lb 4oz already (although I now know that these estimates can be way off!). This put him at about two weeks "ahead" though, which would have him being born the weekend we would be moving into our house! Marshall has told me to take it easy and just pack boxes (but not move them) so hopefully he will stay put until we get at least some of our stuff in the new place :)

We met with our doula again last night to get the final stuff squared away. It is so much different the second time around as there didn't seem to be as many questions or concerns since we had all been through this before. I must admit though that I did wake up the other day and it dawned on me that I would have to go through labor again and I wasn't too happy about that... on the other hand a second later I thought about the fact that Marshall & I get to experience the sheer joy of meeting our child for the first time again and then I remembered that it is all worth it.

Here is my 34 week picture:
