33 weeks and camping!

Well call me crazy but I'm still planning on going camping for our annual Memorial Day river rafting/camping trip at weeks 33/34. So far besides the regular third trimester discomfort I've been feeling good and it should be a lot of eating/relaxing (and no rafting obviously) so I think it'll be good. Also, since we have our trailer now at least I know I'll be comfortable and have a place to retreat to if needed. Since the hospital we deliver at is about 20-25 minutes from our house in the direction of the campsite, it would take us less than an hour to get there anyway in case we needed to, so ultimately I feel comfortable with going. Marshall and Hazel will be heading up Wednesday and Roscoe & I will be joining them from Friday morning to Monday. We did all the shopping and packing yesterday, now to just finish the laundry and get the clothes packed up and we are ready to go! We are all really looking forward to setting up the kids camp with our dear friends The Cross Family and just getting time to hang out and watch our kids play together.

Not much else is going on now. Things for this baby girl are cleaned and organized and the only other thing to do is start our diaper and diaper genie refill stockpile. My girlfriend is hosting a little "baby girl" party at her place on Saturday, June 1st which should also be pretty fun and a great way to celebrate this little one (I'm determined that this little one not "fall through the cracks" just because she happens to be #3!). It should be a great time and it will be nice to see my girlfriends before the baby comes. Only six-ish weeks left... unbelievable!

31 weeks & ultrasound

I can't believe how quickly this month is already flying by. Hazel's birthday party was wonderful and I'm still adjusting to the fact that tomorrow our sweet baby girl will be four years old. Unbelievable! I keep thinking back to this day 4 years ago. We were so excited about meeting our first born child and it was just such an incredible time. I honestly could have never imagined that the next four years would bring us so much happiness, love and two more babies! Unbelievable.

We had what will most likely be our last ultrasound yesterday. Baby girl looked great (but totally squished in there, so no good pics). She was measuring on track and they estimated her weight to be around 3lb 10oz. Of bigger concern to me was what her amniotic fluid levels were as this pregnancy is certainly a lot more like Hazel's and that was our biggest concern with that pregnancy. Turns out the fluid was at 12.7 which is a great number. They also saw her already practicing her breathing which is also a great sign that the baby is developing well, so all in all it was a great appointment!

I'm getting more and more uncomfortable by the day with all the regular third trimester ailments. My back is really hurting again, heartburn is in full force and I'm having trouble sleeping comfortably. What's great this time around is that I really do know that this will all just pass and I can make it through! Another great thing is that this baby has positioned herself to spare me from sciatica (so far) which is a huge blessing since I have two other kiddos to chase around.

Roscoe started to finally show some interest in potty training last week so we are going with it in the hopes that in the next 9 weeks he might actually figure it out. We honestly haven't been too concerned with it and figured that he would let us know when he is ready. During the day and if we leave his pants on he is almost at 100%. With a pull-up on I'd say he remembers to go in the potty about 50% of the time and overnight it is just hit or miss. I've heard a lot about kids regressing with their potty training when a new baby arrives, so for now we will just take it a day at a time and see how it goes, although it certainly would be nice to have only one in diapers at a time!

We are heading to Carmel/Monterey Bay this weekend for Chris and Danielle's Wedding. We can't wait and it really should be a fantastic time. I'm really looking forward to it (minus the car ride since I can't get comfortable lately). We are also going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium with the kids on Friday morning. None of us have ever been there so I think it will be a wonderful experience. As we are gearing up for this trip I am realizing just how much easier it is to travel with a 2 1/2 and 4 year old. I think it'll be a bit of a shock going back to packing for a small baby but also think it'll be like riding a bike and we will be back in the swing of it in no time at all :)
