Under 200!!

So I was looking at that ticker at the top of this blog again and noticed yet another milestone... Jellybean's due date is no longer 200+ days away! We are in the 100's now (albeit 199 is pretty darn close to 200). Either way, I am always so happy when progress appears to have been made. I still haven't told anyone at work yet and am definitely procrastinating with that. I figure I will tell them the week before Thanksgiving unless it is too obvious. Right now I definitely don't think that I look any different, so I can get away with it. We'll see how long that holds out!

Appointment update

Marshall came with me to my appointment this morning (at 7:00!) and was able to meet Dr. Peters. We discussed how I have been feeling and went over some questions. At the end, he took out his doppler to find Jellybean's heartbeat. It took a few seconds at first (sounded like white noise) and then all of the sudden we heard it - woosh, woosh, woosh! It is always so special to experience things like that, especially since there are still no obvious "outward" signs of pregnancy this early on. Looks like everything is going well and I am set to go back again for a standard visit in 4 weeks. It was so nice to have Marshall there this time so that he could experience it instead of having to retell it to him!

Hi Katie!!!

Well, through a weird series of events and a "hunch", my good friend Katie sent me a text message tonight asking if we were pregnant! Marshall brought me my phone dumbfounded! We sat and stared at each other trying to run through the possibilities. Either someone spilled the beans early or Katie had really good intuition! Either way, I called Katie and found out that somehow down the line it had popped up on facebook (turns out it was a post that Melissa put up by accident and then later removed) and someone told her mom who told her! Crazy!! I was bummed that I didn't get to spill the news to her myself, but she still did seem pretty excited and surprised. So anyway, now we have someone new to join in on our journey until the end of this first trimester when we will be telling everyone!

Week 10

Ten weeks still doesn't sound like a lot to me, but then when I think that the entire pregnancy is 40 weeks and therefore we are 25% "done" that starts to sound like a lot more! Everything is still going well. This week I had a few more "off" days than usual and therefore have been dealing with a lot of nausea, headaches, etc. I am really hoping that it starts to get better once we hit that second trimester! We had a lot going on this weekend and there is still more next weekend so I just hope that I have the stamina to keep going. Our next appointment is this Thursday, so it will be nice to see that things are progressing well. Other than that, the most pervasive thing in my daily life is that my clothes are starting to have fit issues. I definitely have not achieved the level required for maternity clothes yet, but am now stuck in an in-between stage where I am not quite sure what to wear anymore. For now though it is just going to have to be a series of rubber bands, safety pins and long shirts!

We're going to tell family...

So once Lili gets here and we tell our one "in person" family member, we are going to make the phone calls to let parents and siblings know. I can't believe it is going to be nine weeks tomorrow. I am excited and I really want these next three weeks to go by quickly so we can tell everyone else. On Wednesday I had an appointment and everything went great! Jellybean is developing on schedule and had a heartbeat (176 bpm)!!! It was really exciting. I even got to see the little feet moving around on the screen. I am excited about what everyone's reaction is going to be...
