Busy days

Ever since Hazel's 2nd birthday things have been moving very FAST! Roscoe is a full on crawler now and into everything. It's really funny cause he does pretty much everything differently than Hazel did it (and it wasn't too long ago that she was a baby, so my memory isn't too far gone here...) He does a modified army crawl where he solely uses his right leg to move and his left leg is poised and pointed up in the air. I really need to get this on video as it is so cute and unique to him. He also has four teeth (both the top middle two and bottom middle two) and is currently working on breaking through two more on top. He's also starting to copy our movements more and sound out daddaa and other things as well as stand up while holding onto chairs and couch cushions. Breastfeeding is still going great and he really enjoys eating food, particularly little chunks of cheddar cheese and the gerber Lil crunchies. While I can't believe he's nine months old already, it has been nice because it still feels like he is a baby to me. When Hazel was nine months old she had about 10 pounds on him, was taking her first steps and I was just starting the second trimester in pregnancy so things did seem to move a lot quicker with her. As we will *most likely* be done with two kiddos, I'm happy to savor these baby moments for a little while longer (lack of sleep included, ha ha!)

Hazel has been doing great as well. We are just finishing up the last of our music classes for this semester (which she really enjoys) and next week we are set to start her first swim lessons which should be a lot of fun. I'm also excited because her lessons are indoors which means I don't have to apply all of that dreaded white & sticky baby sunblock all the time! As she is quite fearless I'm sure she will do things in swim lessons that will give me a panic attack but that said I've been waiting to get to this moment where she really would be able to learn something. Living in California it was pretty much set from early on that our kids would be good swimmers from the get-go as pools here are a dime a dozen and child drownings are on the news all summer :( As for her language, already this week I've noticed a dramatic change. She has started really pronouncing two and three syllable words well and is stringing together 2, 3 and 4 word sentences. She can also count to 10, although this still requires some prompting!

Now that we survived our Memorial Day camping trip the next big thing on the horizon will be Uncle Art's and Giselle's wedding over Labor Day weekend in Temecula which should be a lot of fun. They asked Hazel to be the flower girl and I've been busy trying to piece together her outfit. Other than that, it should be a fun and relaxing summer spent with friends and family!

It's so neat to read that Hazel and Roscoe are so different. It's must be fun to see the differences!

Gosh, this makes me want to work on #2 soon! And I can't believe Roscoe is already 9 months old.

Gotta see the army crawl soon! He'll be a shoo-in to capture the flag during karogzagsana at Mezotne with those mad skillz.
