22 Weeks
Wow, this week has been the one of shocking weight gain! I've remained steady at about 0.5 - 1 lb per week for the last few months (which is the pace I had with the other two pregnancies as well) but in the last week and a half I've gained almost 8 pounds! It's very confusing since I don't think I've changed anything that much. As a result now I just feel HUGE and all the classic "bigger size" pregnancy symptoms are hitting me hard (exhaustion, heartburn, backaches, all over aches, etc!) I've never been too concerned about the weight issue while pregnant but I most certainly do not want to be gaining at this pace for the next 18 weeks so I'm going to try and be a bit more aware of what I'm eating and also try to get out more. It's a daunting task to try and get out the door with a 2 & 3 year old and a dog to walk around the block (since the kids don't want to sit in the stroller anymore yet they are still a "flight risk" to jumping out into the street from the sidewalk). I will be making a more conscious effort to try and get moving a bit more though. I do think that being in better shape was certainly helpful in my other labors and recoveries, so that is my biggest motivator.
The kids are doing great. They are finally settling into a much better sleep routine and that is giving Marshall and I incredible hope when it comes to having a newborn in the house again. We keep wondering if we will get at least one good sleeping baby as we are 0 for 2, but either way we will get what we already know (a non-sleeper) or be pleasantly surprised!
It's been beautiful here this week. I'm planning on starting to slowly pack our bags for New York as this week progresses and it's always weird to be planning for weather that is 50 degrees BELOW what we have here. I almost can't even wrap my mind around that concept.

I had a weird eight pound growth spurt too, right around six months. But then I slowed down to a pound/month. I wouldn't stress about it too much :)
Pack in a pounder while you still can use pregnancy as an excuse!
