So here I am right smack in the middle of this pregnancy. The first half flew by and I know that these next few months will go by quickly as well, it just doesn't feel like it right now! I hadn't gained much weight in the first 20 weeks but I guess I shouldn't have been too concerned about that since I gained 8 of my 11 total pounds in the last 3 weeks! It freaked me out a bit but I can tell the baby is really growing and I am definitely looking pregnant now (instead of chubby). I am also feeling the soreness and stretching that I did with Hazel, which is a bit surprising since I thought my body would already be used to it :-)
As we approach Hazel's first birthday I can't help but think back to this time last year. It was such an exciting time for Marshall and I as we were full term and waiting for our sweet baby to show up "any day now". As I look at her today, running around like crazy, having fun, eating "adult" food, etc I can't believe that our tiny little baby is gone and has now been replaced by this little person! She is so much fun and it is such a pleasure to be able to watch her grow and learn everyday. Marshall and I agreed on one thing though, if you had told us last year when we were checking in to the hospital to have Hazel that in one year we would be 25 (!) weeks pregnant with a son we would have said you were CRAZY! It's amazing where life can take you.

I was the same way I gained 3lbs the first 5 months and then gained 11 in one month with Luke. That freaked me out a lot. I feel the same way that my little baby is now a little person. I thought I would be sad and to a certain point I guess I am but I LOVE this age. Everything is an adventure and they learn from everything. Exciting times ahead for you guys and I know you will enjoy every minute!
Everything sounds just great! So happy for you guys! Give Hazel a bday hug for me!
I can't imagine what you guys feel because I personally feel like I blinked and Hazel became, well, Hazel!!! I was looking at "old" photos of her last night and it's just so amazing and astounding to see a personality grow right before your eyes. So cool. So fun :)
Glad to hear you are happy and healthy, Laura! Such an exciting time. (I ask Jeffrey every day whether I look pregnant or chubby. He swears I look pregnant at this point, so I'm taking his word for it.)
